# Check if a number uses iMessage 

> How to check if a number uses iMessage

The Arnio API lets you call an endpoint to check if a phone number supports iMessage. This is useful for determining:\
•	Whether a number belongs to an iPhone or not\
•	If a number is valid before sending a message\
•	Whether to route the message through Arnio or another provider

Use the <u>/api/evaluate-service</u> endpoint to check if a number uses iMessage.
