# Message templates

Create reusable message templates with personalization and rich media support.

## Overview

Message templates enable you to design engaging messages with variables, rich media, and consistent formatting.

## Create a message template

1. Navigate to **Content** > **Message templates**
2. Click **Create template**
3. Select your channel (iMessage or SMS)
4. Enter your message content with variables for personalization
5. Add rich media (images, videos, voice notes) if using iMessage
6. Preview your template on desktop and mobile
7. Test with sample data
8. Save and publish your template

## Personalization

Use variables in your templates to personalize messages:

* `{{firstName}}` - Contact's first name
* `{{lastName}}` - Contact's last name
* `{{email}}` - Contact's email address
* `{{phoneNumber}}` - Contact's phone number
* Custom properties: `{{customPropertyName}}`

## Rich media templates

For iMessage templates, you can include:

* Images: JPEG, PNG, GIF
* Videos: MP4, MOV
* Voice notes: Audio recordings
* Typing indicators: Show typing status
