# How-to: Create a WhatsApp campaign

Step-by-step guide to creating a WhatsApp campaign.

## Prerequisites

Before creating a WhatsApp campaign, ensure you have:

* WhatsApp Business API connected
* Approved message templates
* Audience with WhatsApp-enabled contacts

## Step 1: Prepare your message template

1. Navigate to **Content** > **Message templates**
2. Create a new WhatsApp template
3. Design your message following WhatsApp guidelines
4. Submit for approval
5. Wait for template approval (can take up to 24 hours)

## Step 2: Create your campaign

1. Go to **Campaigns** > **Create campaign**
2. Select **WhatsApp** as the channel
3. Choose your approved message template
4. Customize template variables with personalization

## Step 3: Select your audience

1. Choose a segment or list
2. Filter contacts who have WhatsApp enabled
3. Preview your audience size
4. Confirm selection

## Step 4: Review and send

1. Preview your campaign
2. Send a test message to verify
3. Review all settings
4. Schedule or send immediately
